The Federal Information Systems Security Educators’ Association (FISSEA) serves as a forum for the exchange of information about information security awareness, training, education, and certification responsibilities. The 30th Annual Conference will be held on March 14-15, 2017 at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The theme is Securing the Future to Infinity and Beyond: 30 years of Improving Cybersecurity through Awareness, Training, and Education.

Attendee Background Conference attendees include over information systems security professionals, trainers, developers, educators, managers, CIOs, academia, and researchers involved with information systems security awareness, training, education, certification, and professionalism. Past attendees included individuals from: DoD, USDA, FDA, DISA, GAO, NOAA, Census, NRC, SSA, IRS, NIH, EPA, DOJ, Treasury, VA, SBA, DHS, NIST, and HUD. In addition to the conference attendees, the expo will be open to all NIST employees.
The Federal Business Council (FBC) hosts a vendor exhibition on March 14 & 15 which is run separately from the actual conference registration. The vendor showcase provides an opportunity for private industry and government agencies to conduct marketing and outreach activities. Organizations can share projects, general services, and other company-specific information for the purpose of creating awareness about their capabilities. Vendors should contact the FBC directly to make arrangements.
You must complete an FBC Security Form and submit to FBC by the due date given below. Please click the link below to go to our Verisign® secured on-line security information form. You will also have the option of downloading our printable security form and submitting the information by fax. Admittance to the event cannot be guaranteed if we do not receive the information by the due date.
If you are not registered, you will not be allowed on site. Registered attendees will receive security and campus instructions prior to the workshop.
NON U.S. CITIZENS PLEASE NOTE: All foreign national visitors who do not have permanent resident status and who wish to register for the above meeting must supply additional information. Failure to provide this information prior to arrival will result, at a minimum, in significant delays (up to 24 hours) in entering the facility.
Exhibitors who fail to comply with the security requirements may be denied access to the event site by the hosting agency. FBC will not be responsible and will not provide refunds to exhibitors who are denied admission to or dismissed from the event site due to failure to comply with the security instructions.

The conference takes place in the Administration Building 101 (this is the tallest building on the campus) in the Green Auditorium and Lecture Room B.
As soon as you enter the Administration Building, take the first hallway to your left and go all the way to the end of the hallway. The Green Auditorium will be around the corner to the right and the expo will take place in the Flag Hallway.
The headquarters site of the National Institute of Standards and Technology is located in Gaithersburg, Maryland, just off Interstate Route 270, about 25 miles (40 kilometers) from the center of Washington, DC. NIST provides shuttle service from the Shady Grove Metro (subway) station. Be sure to read security information (above). Vehicle Registration is required! NIST provides shuttle service for official visitors and staff to and from the Shady Grove Metro Station from 6:45 am to 6:00 pm. Visitors using Metro can meet the NIST shuttle at the east side "Bus Bay C" area of the Shady Grove Metro Station at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. The shuttle departs from the front of the NIST Administration Building on the hour and half hour. The ride between NIST and the Shady Grove Metro Station takes approximately 15 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
There is ample free visitor parking across from the Administration Building.

In an effort to entice attendees to visit with all of the vendors, the FISSEA committee has asked us to put together a PowerPoint presentation that will be shown between conference sessions. We are asking you to provide your logo and 1-2 sentences regarding your company or exhibit – an interesting fact or question that can only be answered at your booth, giveaway information, etc. If you would prefer to design a PowerPoint slide and send it into us, feel free. All information for the slideshow is due no later than 5 p.m. Friday, March 4th. Please e-mail your sales representative with your information or slide.
