On Aug. 2 2016, LTC Preston Hayward became the newest GCSS-Army Product Manager (PdM) during a change of charter ceremony on Fort Lee, Virginia. LTC Hayward has now assumed full responsibility for the GCSS-Army Program. GCSS-Army is a premiere enterprise resource planning solution that combines supply, maintenance, property accountability operations and associated financial data in a consolidated view for the logistics and financial business areas.

LTC Hayward previously served as the Assistant Program Manager, PM Stryker at Detroit Arsenal where he worked on the Stryker upgrade program. Following his time at PM Stryker, LTC Hayward was selected for the Training with Industry program, at the manufacturer of both the Stryker and Abrams tank - General Dynamics Land Systems. His last assignment prior to his return to Fort Lee, was with the Army Corps of Engineers in Wiesbaden, Germany, where he served as a contracting officer supporting multiple construction projects in the Balkans and Poland.

LTC Hayward a native of Green Bay, Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in International Business. He received his Master of Science in Logistics Management from the Florida Institute of Technology in 2004. Additionally, LTC Hayward completed the Basic Airborne Course at Fort Benning, Georgia, the Combined Arms and Services Staff School, and Intermediate Level Education at Fort Lee, Virginia. LTC Hayward is a Certified Level III Acquisition Professional in Program Management and Level III in Contracting.
