Cross Domain Technical Forum (CDTF)

Agenda

The National Cross Domain Strategy & Management (NCDSMO) is finalizing the event’s schedule. The agenda includes the presentations described below.

Filter Assurance Framework

The Filter Assurance Framework provides for assurance testing of filter technologies often used in cross domain solutions. The framework includes carefully crafted test files used to evaluate the capabilities of filter technologies to address concerns and recommended actions prescribed by NCDSMO inspection and sanitization guidance. Tests are orchestrated across one or more versions of filter technologies and the results are collected for comparison and further analysis. In addition to providing assessments of filter technologies, this effort will inform updates to the MS Office Inspection and Sanitization Guidance and expand the Filter Test Data Set.

Using Domain Specific Languages to Facilitate the Rapid Deployment of Tactical Cross-Domain Solutions

Mercury Systems will present on the development of its InLine Interface Processor, a tactical streaming-transfer CDS that enables communication between varying levels of security at protocol line-rate using a linear assured pipeline implemented in an FPGA. This approach seeks to minimize lab based re-assessment efforts in response to a change in the Dataflow Filtering policy. Such a model would allow for the development of new CDSs more quickly.

Cloud Cross Domain Capabilities

The cloud cross domain providers have been invited to provide short overviews of their capabilities and services.

DIB Cybersecurity Services

NSA's Cybersecurity Collaboration Center will outline the cybersecurity services NSA offers companies with active DoD contracts to reduce risk of network compromise and protect sensitive but unclassified information.

FMS CDS

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) will provide an update on FMS CDS initiatives and processes.

LBSA Overview

The NCDSMO will present an overview of the lab-based security assessment (LBSA) process and the requirements for starting LBSA.

JSON Validators

A critical prerequisite for the cross domain transfer of JSON formatted data is the availability of correct and trusted JSON validator and parser technologies. The presentation will provide a high-level overview of the JSON Schema specification and JSON Schema Test Data Suite, available third-party open source tools for testing JSON validators against the test data suite, results from the evaluation of several JSON validators against the test data suite.

Anti-Tamper

Several presentations on day 3 (classified day) will cover how existing anti-tamper technologies apply to CDS products.
