About Marine Corps Base Hawaii
MCBH at Kaneohe Bay is home for the 3rd Marine Regiment, Marine Aircraft Group 24, Combat Logistics Battalion 3 (CLB-3) 3rd Radio Battalion, and the Navy's Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing 2.
The installation provides certain land, air, sea, and amphibious training capabilities to enable Marines and other U.S. and foreign military services and non-federal agencies to prepare across the continuum of potential operations, from large-scale joint operations to humanitarian relief. To meet that mission the USMC operates a 7,800-foot runway at the base. The installation also provides logistics, garrison support, mobilization and deployment support, security, and explosive ordnance disposal.
The mission of Marine Corps Base (MCB) Hawaii is to provide facilities, programs and services in direct support of units, individuals, and their families in order to enhance and sustain combat readiness for all operating forces and tenant organizations aboard the installation. MCB Hawaii contains the only Marine-managed training areas and ranges between the West Coast of the United States and Japan. Home to air, ground, and logistics elements of the 3d Marine Expeditionary Force (III MEF) and to the command headquarters of U.S. Pacific Command (Camp HM Smith) and Marine Forces Pacific (Camp HM Smith), MCB Hawaii provides critical facilities in support of U.S. military efforts in the Pacific.
