Ralph Wescott is responsible for multiple computer rooms, power distribution and cooling design and energy consumption monitoring and minimizing for PNNL at their Richland, Washington campus. He has developed and implemented standards on managing power, cooling and individual equipment rack layout. Ralph serves as a consultant to other departments assuring consistency in computer related power and cooling installations and is a Department of Energy Certified Data Center Energy Practitioner. He recently planned and managed the in-place evolution of a failing data center to an energy efficient Tier 1 environment.


Ralph has been involved with Data Centers for over 32 years, the first 20 years with IBM as a Customer Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer and finally as a Systems Engineer. Since 1996 he was a System Administrator at PNNL on two Super Computers and other platforms and now manages several Campus Data Centers. Ralph holds a B.S. degree from State University, New York.
