Matthew Snyder joined Penn State Health and the College of Medicine as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) in October 2014. As the CISO, Matt is responsible for the strategic direction and management of the enterprise's cyber security program that includes risk management, incident management, data protection and regulatory compliance.

Matt has over 18 years of experience in Cyber Security and Information Technology. Prior to his arrival at Penn State Health, he served as the Chief Information Security Officer for the Texas Department of Public Safety as well as the Cyber Security Program Manager for the National Nuclear Security Administration/Nevada Site Office.

In both these organizations, he was responsible for the initial design, implementation, and management of the cyber security programs used to safeguard the organization's information and information systems. In addition, he served in the United States Air Force for eight years with the majority of his service as an Information Security Program Manager.
