Colonel Gregory C. Griffin was originally commissioned as an Armor 2LT in 1994 from the United States Military Academy.
COL Griffin served in various leadership positions from Tank and Scout Platoon Leader to Troop Commander in 1-32 AR, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division at Fort Lewis, WA; 1/7 Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, TX; and 1/16 Cavalry at Fort Knox, KY. After Troop Command, the United States Military Academy selected COL Griffin as an instructor for the Department of Systems Engineering where he taught for two years. Then the Army selected COL Griffin for Functional Area 24 (FA24) and assigned him as the Network Engineer for the 25th Infantry Division where he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) 9-11. Then COL Griffin transferred to the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) Headquarters where he worked as the Intelligence Systems Integrator and Deployed Architecture Planner for the USARPAC G2 and as the USARPAC Contingency Command Post (CCP) G6. During these assignments, COL Griffin participated in multiple international exercises with critical strategic partners throughout the Pacific Theater. COL Griffin then served as the Director of the CONUS Theater Network Operations and Security Center (TNOSC) at Fort Huachuca, AZ. During his tenure, COL Griffin transformed the TNOSC to the 2nd Regional Cyber Center - Western Hemisphere with expanded mission into Defensive Cyber Operations. Upon completion of his Directorship, COL Griffin attended the Naval War College in Newport, RI where he earned a Masters of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies. Currently, COL Griffin is assigned to DISA HQs at Fort Meade, MD where he has served as the Chief of Current Operations for the DISA Command Center and the Executive Assistant to the Director before becoming the JRSS PMO.
