The Foreign Language Program Office (FLPO) of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), and the National Cryptologic School (NCS) are pleased to announce that the Teaching Reading, Listening and Speaking in the Cyber Era Language Education and Resources Network (LEARN) Workshop will be held Tuesday, August 4th and Wednesday, August 5th, 2015, on the campus of the Loyola Columbia Graduate Center, Columbia, MD.

The LEARN workshops provide foreign language professionals from U.S. Government (USG)-affiliated schools and institutions a venue to interact with their colleagues where they can:

  • discuss and explore issues related to the science and technology of foreign language education;
  • share their knowledge, experience, unique perspective, and educational best practices with peers;
  • develop networks of teachers to create communities of practices, and
  • reduce duplication of efforts in areas such as curriculum design and course development.

This LEARN Workshop is open to instructors and course developers of all foreign languages from any USG-affiliated institution. As the title suggests, the workshop is focused on the issues of teaching, maintaining and enhancing the reading, listening, and speaking skills of USG and U.S. military language professionals in the Cyber Era.

Participation in this LEARN workshop is limited to instructors, course developers and other professionals from USG-affiliated institutions. No vendors will be allowed to participate.

Funding for any associated travel expenses will be the responsibility of the attendees' organization.
