Mr. Dan Joyce was named the Assistant PEO (APEO) for the Business Mission Area at Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS) in June 2020. In this role, he is responsible for synchronizing the PEO's efforts with other stakeholders to modernize the Army Enterprise Resource Planning systems.

Mr. Joyce served 21 years in the U.S. Air Force and 18 years on the Office of the Secretary of Defense staff, Joint Staff, and in Army acquisition, prior to his current assignment.

From 2018 to 2019, Mr. Joyce served as the Assistant PEO for Network, Cyber and Services at PEO EIS. In that capacity, he was responsible for oversight of the cost, schedule and performance of Army programs in three O6-level Program Management organizations: Defense Communications and Army Transmission systems (DCATS), Enterprise Services, and Defensive Cyber Operations.

Prior to that, he served as the Deputy Director for Mission Command Systems at the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology) from 2013 to 2018, working closely with Army PEO Command, Control & Communications - Tactical (PEO C3T) and PEO EIS. He first joined Army Acquisition in 2005, providing subject matter expertise on acquisition programs to deliver Tactical Command, Control and Communication systems, as well as Enterprise Information and Software systems.

Mr. Joyce's military career spanned from 1981 to his retirement in 2002, when he began providing contracted subject matter expertise. Highlights of his Air Force career included serving as a Satellite Communication action officer on the Joint Staff/J6; commanding the 67th Support Squadron at Kelly Air Force Base; and operating two Top Secret, one Secret and two Unclassified networks supporting Air Intelligence Agency operations around the world for the 690th Mission Support Squadron. He also held assignments at Headquarters North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD)/J5; at the NORAD and U.S. Space Command at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado; and at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.

Mr. Joyce holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of New Hampshire and a master's degree in computer systems from the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He is a distinguished graduate of the National Defense University's Eisenhower School at Fort McNair, Washington D.C., having received a master's degree in national defense resourcing. He is certified Program Management Level III and is an Army Acquisition Corps member. He completed Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama.

Mr. Joyce received the Achievement Medal for Civilian Service and the Meritorious Civilian Service Award.
