Learn about the Office of Retirement and Disability Policy (ORDP)'s Ticket to work program!

ORDP is the principal advisor to the Commissioner of Social Security on major policy issues and is involved in analyses of legislative and regulatory specifications and budgetary effects of legislation on programs administered by SSA. ORDP manages a nationwide network of medical, psychological, and vocational experts who assist in making disability determinations decisions.

The Ticket to Work Program provides most people receiving Social Security benefits (beneficiaries) more choices for receiving employment services. There are many ways employers can become involved in Ticket to Work. Under this program, the Social Security Administration (SSA) issues tickets to eligible beneficiaries who, in turn, may choose to assign those tickets to an Employment Network (EN) of their choice to obtain employment services, vocational rehabilitation services, or other support services necessary to achieve a vocational (work) goal. An EN has the unique opportunity to get paid for helping Social Security beneficiaries achieve their work goals.
