Megan Gates is an associate editor at Security Management, a magazine written for security professionals on best practices to help them protect people, property, and information. She covers emerging cybersecurity threats and trends, as well as legal issues related to security, and holds a bachelor's in journalism with a minor in film studies from Missouri State University. Megan recently won the 2017 American Society of Business Publication Editors Young Leaders Scholarship and a national writing award for her piece "The Cyber Incident Survival Guide," a best practice guide on handling a data breach. In addition to being published by Security Management, her work has appeared in Reuters, USA TODAY College, The Springfield Business Journal, The Cedar Rapids Gazette, and The Joplin Globe.
