33rd Annual Government Procurement Conference (GPC)

Location

The 33rd Annual Government Procurement Conference (GPC) will take place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center located at 801 Mount Vernon Place, NW Washington, DC. As one of the country's most accessible cities, Washington is surrounded by three major airports, Amtrak and a first-rate subway system, METRO. The Walter E. Washington Convention Center is located between 7th and 9th Streets and N Street and Mt. Vernon Place in downtown DC, right across from Carnegie Library at Mt. Vernon Square.

  • Take the Yellow or Green line to Mt Vernon Sq/7th St-Convention Center.
  • Exit the train at the Mt Vernon Sq/7th St-Convention Center.
  • Upon exiting the Mt Vernon Sq/7th St-Convention Center Metro Station, the entrance to the Convention Center will be directly in front of you.
  • Go down the stairs or take the elevator to the Street Level (Level 1)
  • Registration will take place on Level 2 outside of Exhibit Hall D.

From Maryland

From Points North
  • Take I-95 south to the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (exit 22B) toward Washington.
  • Take the Washington exit - US 50 West (on the right).
  • US - 50 West becomes New York Avenue.
  • Proceed on New York Avenue.
  • New York Avenue becomes Mt. Vernon Place.
  • The Walter E. Washington Convention Center will be on your right.
From Points South
  • Travel Southwest on MD - Route 2.
  • Make slight right onto MD ā€“ Route 4N.
  • MD ā€“ 4 N becomes Pennsylvania Ave. SE.
  • Take ramp toward I-395.
  • Merge onto Southeast Freeway.
  • Southeast Freeway becomes Iā€“295 N.
  • Take 7th street exit.
  • Proceed north on 7th Street 10 blocks.
  • Make left on Mt. Vernon Place.
  • The Walter E. Washington Convention Center will be on your right.
From Points East
  • Take US - 50 West.
  • US - 50 West becomes New York Avenue.
  • New York Avenue becomes Mt. Vernon Place.
  • The Walter E. Washington Convention Center will be on your right.
From Points West
  • Take I - 270 to the Washington Beltway 495 West toward Northern Virginia.
  • Take the George Washington (GW) Parkway exit to 395 North.
  • Take the 12th Street exit.
  • Proceed on 12th Street and then turn right on Massachusetts Avenue.
  • Massachusetts Avenue will become Mt. Vernon Place.
  • The Walter E. Washington Convention Center will be on your left.

From Virginia

From Points North
  • Take I-495 to I-66 East.
  • Take I-66 East to Washington, DC.
  • Take Route 50/Constitution Avenue exit.
  • Proceed on Constitution Avenue to 7th Street.
  • Turn left on 7th Street.
  • Proceed 9 blocks on 7th Street to Mt. Vernon Place.
  • Turn left on Mt. Vernon Place.
  • The Walter E. Washington Convention Center will be on your right.
From Points South
  • Take I - 495 to 395 North.
  • Take 395 North to Washington, DC.
  • Follow 395 North across the 14th Street Bridge.
  • Stay to the right lanes.
  • Proceed across the 14th Street Bridge to Independence Avenue.
  • Turn right on Independence Avenue and proceed 2 blocks to 7th Street.
  • Turn left on 7th Street and proceed 10 blocks to Mt.Vernon Avenue.
  • Turn left on Mt. Vernon Place.
  • The Walter E. Washington Convention Center will be on your right.


Directions from Airports

Ronald Reagan National Airport is the closest airport to the Convention Center. However, BWI and Dulles are within driving distance as well.

From Ronald Reagan National Airport

By Car
  • Take the George Washington (GW) Parkway north to I-395 and Washington, DC.
  • Follow signs to the 14th Street Bridge.
  • Proceed across the 14th Street to Independence Avenue.
  • Turn right onto Independence Avenue and proceed 2 blocks to 7th Street.
  • Turn left on 7th Street and proceed 12 blocks to Mt. Vernon Place.
  • Turn left on Mt. Vernon Place.
  • The Walter E. Washington Convention Center will be on your right.
By Metro
  • Ronald Reagan National Airport Metro Station is located on the Concourse (Level 2).
  • Take the Yellow Line Train marked Mt. Vernon Square / Convention Center.
  • Exit the train at the Mt. Vernon Square / Convention Center stop.
  • (The Mt. Vernon Square / Convention Center Station is the 7th and final stop on the Yellow Line from Ronald Reagan National Airport).
  • Upon exiting the Mt. Vernon Square Metro Station, the entrance to the Convention Center will be directly in front of you.

From Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Airport

By Car
  • Take I-195 West to MD -295 South via exit 2B to Washington.
  • Continue west on US-50.
  • US - 50 West becomes New York Avenue.
  • Proceed on New York Avenue.
  • New York Avenue becomes Mt. Vernon Place.
  • The Walter E. Washington Convention Center will be on your right
By MARC (Maryland Commuter Train) & Metro
  • The MARC train provides service to the BWI Rail Station with free shuttles to the airport terminal.

  • Take the MARC train from BWI Rail Station to Washington's Union Station.
  • Union Station is 10 blocks east of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
  • You may take a taxi or take the Red Line Metro train marked Shady Grove from the Union Station Metro stop located within Union Station.
  • Exit the Red Line train at the Gallery Place Station. (This is the 2nd stop from Union Station).
  • Transfer at Gallery Place station to the Yellow Line train marked Mt. Vernon Square / Convention Center.
  • Exit the Yellow Line train at the Mt. Vernon Square / Convention Center Metro Station. (This is the first stop after boarding the Yellow Line train)
  • Upon Exiting the Mt. Vernon Square Metro Station, the entrance to the Convention Center will be directly in front of you.

From Dulles International Airport

By Car
  • Take I-66 East to Washington.
  • Take Route 50/Constitution Avenue exit.
  • Proceed on Constitution Avenue.
  • Turn left on 7th Street.
  • Proceed 9 blocks on 7th Street and turn left on Mt. Vernon Place.
  • The Walter E. Washington Convention Center will be on your right.
By Shuttle & Metro
  • Go to the Washington Flyer Coach Service located on Arrivals Level at Door #4. ($8.00 fare payable upon boarding)
  • The Washington Flyer Shuttle will go to the West Falls Church Metro Station.
  • At the West Falls Church Metro Station, take the Orange line train marked New Carrollton.
  • Exit the Orange Line train at the L'Enfant Metro Station.
  • Transfer at the L'Enfant Metro Station to the Yellow Line train (on the upper level) marked Mt. Vernon Square/ Convention Center.
  • Exit the Yellow Line train at the Mt. Vernon Square/ Convention Center stop. (This is the 3rd and final stop after boarding the Yellow Line train)
  • Upon Exiting the Mt. Vernon Square Metro Station, the entrance to the Convention Center will be directly in front of you.

Parking

The Convention Center has identified over 3,000 parking spaces in a three-radius of the facility. These spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis. We encourage exhibitors and attendees to use the public parking facilities, so that it does not impact the limited residential parking. There are also approximately 100 metered parking spaces within close proximity to the facility.

There are 12 designated public parking spaces designated for vehicles displaying disability parking placards/permits or license tags in the following locations:

  • North end of 7th Street between L and Mt Vernon Streets (3 metered spaces)
  • South end of 9th Street between Mount Vernon Place and L Street (3 metered spaces)
  • South end of 9th Street between L Street and M Street (3 metered spaces)
  • South end of 9th Street between M Street and N Street (3 metered spaces)

Parking signs are posted indicating that the spaces are for two-hour parking from 7:00am - 6:30pm daily.
